The mission of VidyaPrakash is straightforward: to ensure that no student in India is denied access to education because of financial constraints. India is home to one of the largest and youngest populations in the world, yet millions of talented students drop out every year because they cannot afford tuition, books, or basic living expenses. We exist to change that.
Why Education Access Matters
Education is the single most effective pathway out of poverty. A student who completes higher education earns significantly more over their lifetime, contributes more to the economy, and is better equipped to support their family and community. Yet access to education in India remains deeply unequal. Students from lower-income families, rural areas, and marginalized communities face systemic barriers that their more privileged peers do not.
Scholarships are a proven solution to this problem. They remove the financial burden from students and allow them to focus on what matters — learning, growing, and building the skills they need to succeed. But the scholarship landscape in India is fragmented. Opportunities are scattered across government portals, NGO websites, university databases, and corporate programs, making it nearly impossible for a student to find everything they qualify for in one place.
Our Approach
VidyaPrakash takes a technology-first approach to solving this problem. We aggregate scholarships from every source we can find — government schemes, private foundations, corporate CSR initiatives, individual donors, and university-specific programs — and make them searchable through a single, easy-to-use platform. Students can filter by their state, academic level, field of study, category, and more to find opportunities that match their profile.
Beyond discovery, we are building tools that help students apply more effectively: document checklists, application tracking, deadline reminders, and guidance on writing compelling personal statements. We want to remove every friction point between a student and the scholarship they deserve.
The Bigger Picture
Our long-term vision is a India where access to education is determined by a student's potential, not their postcode or family income. We measure our success not by the number of listings on our platform, but by the number of students who receive funding and go on to complete their education. Every scholarship awarded through VidyaPrakash is a step toward a more equitable and prosperous India.
