Mehar Chand Merit Cum Means Scholarship

I grew up in Una with big dreams and the determination to chase them. I know firsthand that talent and ambition are never in short supply here, but opportunity sometimes is. This scholarship exists for students who show up every day ready to learn, who carry themselves with integrity, and who have the drive to build a meaningful life, but whose families may not have the financial means to support their secondary education. If that sounds like you, this scholarship is for you. Each year, I sponsor the secondary school education of five students from Una for one full academic year. Recipients will be selected based on their academic record, character, and financial need. To those not selected, please know this: it is not a reflection of your ability or your worth. With only five spots available each year, the selection is a matter of capacity, not a measure of who deserves it more. Every student striving to better themselves deserves this chance. I offer this scholarship because I believe that when we remove the barrier of cost, young people in Una will do extraordinary things, just as this town has always inspired its children to do.
